Electrical layout drafter

We are building the electrical layout drafter for residential projects, a tool that reads a floor plan and returns a first pass electrical layout you can edit.

Electrical layouts are drawn again on every project and the work is close to identical each time.

Somebody opens the last set, moves the points to fit the new plan and counts lights room by room, which takes a day on a flat and longer on a floor plate.

The tool places switchboards, lights, fans and power points across every room in one pass, so the drawing starts from a layout rather than from an empty plan.

Each room is measured against a lighting level you set, so you can see which rooms fall short before anyone opens a calculation sheet.

You move, add, delete and rewire points on the drawing itself and the standard holds while you work. Deleting a light raises the remaining fittings back towards the target, and adding one dims them rather than overlighting the room.

Every placement comes from a written rule, so a studio sets its own mounting heights, switching and lighting levels once and every drawing after that follows them.

The finished layout goes back into AutoCAD as blocks, tags, switching arcs and a board schedule, and one undo reverses it.
