Bhavana Priya Balasubramanian

Bhavana is an architectural designer and AI researcher building AI-powered tools for the AEC and urban tech industries. She holds an MSc in AI for Architecture and Business Innovation from IAAC Barcelona, an MSc in Design from UPenn's Weitzman School with distinction, and a B.Arch from R.V. College of Architecture.

Her work sits at the intersection of design and computation, focused on keeping designers in the loop as AI takes on more of practice. Before co-founding Perspec she researched biomaterials at UPenn's DumoLab, taught AI in Design and Robotic Fabrication at Weitzman, and built machine learning tools for timber construction, embodied carbon and air quality.

At Perspec, she works with architects, real estate professionals, governments, and planning bodies to build automation tools suited to how the industry actually works.
